  2. “Diane,” a small contribution to Andrea Kalfas’ Twin Peaks zine, “Damn Fine Coffee.” While watching the show I liked to pretend that Cooper’s recorder wasn’t on, and that Diane was just his name for it. Like it was some kind of stress release to talk to it and gather his thoughts.

  4. New drawing for SooJin Buzelli at Plansponsor magazine. The article this accompanies is about how stable investments are performing better than their peers. So, obviously. Let’s invent some narratives together. Let’s draw all the stuff.

  7. I recently worked with John Sandford at Muse Magazine on a feature article about the characteristics and lifestyles of Neanderthal man. This is 1/3.
How easy would it be to recognize a Neanderthal if you ran into one at a bus stop? Our Neanderthal here is characterized by his heavy brow, long nose, wide brain case, and primitive reading material. Homo sapiens are notable for their hot dog skateboards, bubblegum, handheld videogames, and a propensity for putting shirts on dogs.

  9. I have a two-page spread in this week’s edition of Adweek Magazine, accompanying an article about retails businesses using subtle perfume as a sort of olfactory branding to draw people into their stores.
Super quick turnaround on this guy — assignment comes in Friday night, final goes out Tuesday night.
The magazine is printed with scratch-and-sniff ink over the perfume areas, which is grass scented. Fun!

Paper Dolls. Why not! I figured maybe I should start doing some of the assignments I give to my MICA students. These will appear periodically with new outfits and hairdos etc.

Lovely! I will take all 3 outfits, please.
Yeah, you guys know Daniel Krall, right? He draws some fly shawties.

A YEAR OF SUN WITH MR. PERSOL
This is a new commercial that I directed along with Stéphane Coëdel for Persol Sunglasses! Here are some of the amazing people who helped us! (full credits on the vimeo page)

    Jeremy Pires // Animator
    Nelson Boles // Animator
    Celine Desrumaux // Compositor
    Chris Turnham // Background Painter
Dave Newby // Music & Sound

I also want to give a huge thanks to Passion Pictures and our producers Ryan Goodwin-Smith and Jen Coatsworth, and also the people at Winkreative for the giving us the chance! Also to Elizabeth Ito and Chris Mitchell for kindly lending their storyboarding expertise! Can’t wait to work on another project like this :)

Whoa whoa!! Another fantastic animated team-up between Kevin Dart, Stéphane Coedel, and all their talented colleagues! They just keep getting better and better! Damn. Plus I’m psyched to see a company go out on a limb and use such creative animated awesomeness. Well done all around.

How does this not have a thousand million notes? The height of injustice. This is amazing.
